Sustainability
Sustainability is imprinted into the DNA of Dan Liris as a core pillar of our vision and mission. At a group level, it informs of overarching corporate strategy and the development of the group’s ecosystem as to how different business units can support each other in their sustainability efforts. We have a number of initiatives underway that not only reduce waste but also utilize waste from the textile production process to produce new yarns and fabrics as well as homeware and other handicrafts.
Each program that we undertake is carefully considered through the prism of sustainability in all its facets; in terms of the environment, the company’s future and the community that surrounds us through working in harmony with local craftsmen and their traditions.

Our R&D also centres around the theme of sustainability through the selection and development of the latest advancements in eco-friendly yarns and fabrics to offer a complete range of options to our customers.
Our portfolio includes various natural fibres such as hemp and linen as well as agro-waste fibres from banana leaf and nettle. A range of biodegradable textiles are also made available such as Lyocell which is a form of rayon using wood cellulose fibres that offers breathability, a luxurious feel and is hypoallergenic. We also work closely with international partners to offer pioneering synthetic fabrics that use recycled materials and cruelty free textiles such as Ahimsa silk which ensures that the silk worm is not harmed during the production process.
